GeekRev’s Site Featured

While GR is still very young, it’s always nice to be recognized by your peers. Brandon Cox (@brandonacox) over at wpforministry told me Saturday night that he’d be featuring our customization of Standard Theme today. You can check it out here.

Other than colors, we’ve done some subtle but elegant changes.

One thing we did was to increase the letter-spacing of the navigation menu items to make them read better. You can do this by adding the following to your custom.css file:

.nav a:link, .nav a:visited, .nav a:hover { letter-spacing: .3em; }

Another thing we did was customize our “Continue Reading” link, inspired by an article by Matthew Snider (@geekforhim) at Here’s our code for you custom.css file:

.more-link { margin-top:5px; margin-bottom:5px; float:right; color:#4C4C4C !important; font-size:10px; font-weight:normal; font-family: sans-serif; text-align:center; padding: 8px 6px 6px 20px; background-color:#B2B2B2; -webkit-border-radius: 5px; -moz-border-radius: 5px; border-radius: 5px; letter-spacing: .2em; text-transform:uppercase; }

.more-link:hover, .more-link .a:hover { text-decoration:none !important; color:#EFEFEF !important; background-color:#4C4C4C; }

I’d be glad to reveal the code behind anything else you’re curious about – just ask!

Thanks, Brandon for the acknowledgment!
