Pocket Light Meter (free) by Nuwaste Studios, is a really useful and easy-to-use light meter. A light meter helps you determine how well lit a scene is, helping you decide what measures, if any need to be taken to make sure a scene is lit properly. There are many competing apps in the iOS appstore, but this is the best in my opinion (and I’ve tried most of them). See my review after the break.

Resource: Free HD Countdowns

Calum (cool name) from FreeHDCountdowns.com contacted me to introduce his media resource. His site offers free, no strings attached video countdown timers. The countdowns are in HD, and vary in length and theme. Calum also offers tutorials and guides for creating and using countdowns. Calum considers FreeHDCountdowns as a “collection for churches on a budget.” Currently, the selection is in its infancy, but Calum promises new countdowns monthly. Continue Reading…

It looks like Apple is trying to prove it still cares about the “pro” video industry by adding some features to Final Cut Pro X that have been highly requested by “pro” video editors.
